Privacy policy

This is a demo environment. No real personal data is processed. Demo accounts use local browser storage only and are resettable. Do not enter real identity documents.

CarryOn handles personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We collect the minimum information needed to operate the marketplace: name, email, mobile number, city, identity documents for verification, and delivery addresses required to complete a transaction.

What we do not show publicly

  • Full street addresses — only general city/region appears on the public marketplace.
  • Telephone numbers and email addresses are never shown to public visitors.
  • Identity documents are stored securely and only authorised administrators may review them.
  • Banking details are masked and never exposed in full in the member dashboard.

Data safety

This summary mirrors the disclosure required by app store review processes (such as the Google Play Data safety form) so reviewers can see what this demo collects and why.

  • Personal information collected: name, email, mobile number, city, identity documents (for verification), delivery addresses, and bank payout details (for carriers). Photos are optional for profile and parcels.
  • Purpose: account creation, identity verification, matching senders with carriers, completing booked deliveries, and paying out carrier earnings (less the 15% platform commission).
  • Not shared publicly: full street addresses, telephone numbers, email, identity documents and full bank details are never shown on the public marketplace or public profiles. Identity documents are reviewable only by authorised administrators.
  • Security: passwords are stored as one-way hashes via managed authentication; identity documents are stored in access-controlled storage; bank details are masked in the dashboard.
  • Deletion: you may request erasure of your personal information. In this demo environment, no real personal data is processed and accounts are resettable.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. In this demo, clearing your browser storage resets your account.

Payments

This prototype runs in payment Test Mode only. No real money is processed or moved. Payment-card details are never entered or stored in CarryOn — checkout is handled by the hosted payment provider. Carrier payouts are marked eligible within the demo and are not settled as real transfers.
